All in Mountain Stream Teas
Most GABA teas are a little sour and ripe tasting after going through the unique oxygen free fermentation process. We have found one that isn't. Tasting of sweet, large black raisins this full bodied tea blew us away! Grow in the same wild garden as our Aged Heart White Tea, the sweetness of this tea is amazing.
An earthly green tea made with the JinXuan (Milk) Cultivar, this tea is similar to Japanese greens but with a milky Taiwanese twist…Hand picked, processed on site, very small batch
Made by an 80 year old tea master in Pinglin, this rare and slightly sweet black tea is earthy, unpolished and true. Considered the father of organic farming in Taiwan, his garden has been chemical free for many decades and the teas produced there can be sold out years in advance. This tea is a real treat and is a favorite among black tea drinkers for its strength, softness and depth.
A heavily oxidized tea from Taidong, this Red Oolong is a real treat. Rich rose and other floral flavors pour out of its earthy red tones…The perfect mix of black and oolong teas!
…this tea is earthy while the other is light. Still full of the minty licorice flavor this cultivar is so well known for, its expresses itself in a much more natural, deep and leafy brew.
Tea material from this elevation is very rarely are made into black tea as the oolong tea made from the leaves is much more valuable to the grower. This farm has used that material to create an amazingly soft and fruity black tea that changes the high floral notes of the Qinxin cultivar into rich ripe stone fruit notes through full oxidization.
There is a reason that Alishan Oolong is famous(and expensive) and this tea is the best expression of it that we have ever found. Bright, floral, sweet, oceanic, and all the other descriptors used for Alishan Oolong can be found within these tightly rolled balls of leaf. The catch is that it is wildly expensive. Grown on the only organic farm in the Alishan area proper(that we know of)…
Made by one of our favorite tea masters in Pinglin, this BaoZhong is deep, rich, sweet and full. Processed in the old style with all the perfections and imperfections intact, this is a connoisseur's tea. Usually sold out a year in advance, we were able to sneak in and get some of this wonderful tea the week after it was produced.
